Rauni Prittinen King is a visionary leader and businesswoman, an accomplished healthcare provider and instructor, and the driving force behind the Miraglo Foundation. With over 20 years of experience in critical care nursing, she has dedicated her career to advancing integrative medicine and holistic healthcare practices.
Rauni founded the Miraglo Foundation with Dr. Mimi Guarneri to bring essential healthcare and education to underserved communities around the world, championing sustainable, holistic solutions to global health challenges.
As the co-founder and executive director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc., at the internationally acclaimed Pacific Pearl La Jolla, Rauni plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by combining cutting-edge medical science with time-honored healing traditions. Her work at the Pacific Pearl has positioned it as a global leader in integrative medicine.
After receiving a BSN from Arizona State University, Rauni earned a Master’s in Integrative Health from National University. Certified in holistic nursing, hypnotherapy, and interior design, Rauni is also a Certified Healing Touch® Practitioner and Instructor. She is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, Healing Beyond Borders, and Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine. Rauni’s professional journey began in intensive care, where she honed her expertise in critical care nursing. Following her tenure in the ICU, she transitioned into a leadership role as a nurse case manager for the renowned Scripps Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease research. She co-founded the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine alongside Dr. Mimi Guarneri, serving as the director of programs and planning, and helping to establish it as a premier institution for integrative health.
Rauni’s unique skill set allows her to integrate holistic modalities with conventional medicine seamlessly. As a sought-after healthcare consultant, she advises individuals and healthcare systems through her business, Holistic and Integrative Medicine Resources, Inc. (HIMR), where she helps develop innovative integrative medicine practices.
For her work, she received the Trailblazer Award from the Scripps Health Foundation, and AIHM 2022 Change Maker Award from Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine. She has been honored for her work in Southern India by Project Concern International. Rauni’s work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
25 years ago, Rauni King and her founding Miraglo colleague Dr. Guarneri were introduced to a series of life-changing projects in southern India. Since then, they have been traveling back and forth supporting the development of a much-needed new local hospital, notably by purchasing essential life-saving medical equipment. Upon the inception of the Sri Narayani College of Nursing in 2006, they have been providing scholarships while also supporting numerous community health and medicine programs and clinics. Additional programs making huge waves in the region include environmental protection and improvement programs, schools running from K-12, and scholarships for post-secondary education. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they dedicated major resources to the hospital and community to help them weather the global storm.
Rauni’s commitment to creating healing environments and bridging the gap between conventional and holistic medicine defines her work. Through her leadership, she continues to inspire transformation in healthcare on a global scale.

Dr. Mimi Guarneri is a board-certified leader in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, and integrative holistic medicine. As the President of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM), she is at the forefront of a global movement to revolutionize healthcare. Dr. Guarneri also served as Senior Advisor to the Atlantic Health System for the Chambers Center for Well Being and other prominent healthcare systems, shaping integrative care across the nation. She was recognized for leadership in integrative medicine by the Bravewell Collaborative and was the founding chair of the Bravewell Clinical Network for Integrative Medicine for 13 years.
A visionary in the field, Dr. Guarneri was a founding board member of the American Board of Physician Specialties in Integrative Medicine (ABOIM) and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Since 2014, she has been the co-founder and medical director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc. at Pacific Pearl La Jolla, where she leads a multidisciplinary team specializing in the fusion of conventional, integrative, and natural medicine.
Dr. Guarneri’s journey began with a degree in English Literature from New York University, followed by a medical degree from SUNY Medical Center, where she graduated as the top student in her class. She completed her internship and residency at Cornell Medical Center, serving as chief medical resident. Her cardiology fellowships at both New York University Medical Center and Scripps Clinic further solidified her expertise. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Alpha Omega Alpha, the American Medical Women’s Association, and the American College of Nutrition.
A trailblazer in integrative medicine, Dr. Guarneri co-founded the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, serving as its medical director for 15 years. Earlier in her career at Scripps Clinic, she specialized in interventional cardiology, performing thousands of coronary stent procedures. Recognizing the need for a more holistic approach to heart disease, she pioneered integrative methods at the Scripps Center, combining advanced cardiac imaging with lifestyle interventions to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease.
An acclaimed author, Dr. Guarneri’s latest book, 108 Pearls to Awaken Your Healing Potential, was published by Hay House in 2017. Her earlier work, The Heart Speaks, garnered widespread media attention, including features on NBC’s Today and PBS. She is the professor behind The Great Courses DVD series, The Science of Natural Healing, and co-author of Total Engagement: The Healthcare Practitioner’s Guide to Heal Yourself, Your Patients & Your Practice. In 2019 and 2020 her television special Live Better Now with Mimi Guarneri, MD was broadcast to hundreds of public television stations across the USA. She also hosted The Heart Health series for the Food Revolution Network in 2021.
Dr. Guarneri’s contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the Bravewell Physician Leadership Award in 2011, the ARCS Foundation Scientist of the Year in 2009, and the 2012 Linus Pauling Functional Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute for Functional Medicine. She has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Physicians Practicing Integrative Medicine by Newsmax (ranking 6th in 2015) and honored by San Diego Magazine as a Health and Wellness Pioneer in their 2016 Woman of the Year Awards.

Dr. Badri Rickhi is a visionary in the field of integrative medicine and psychiatry whose lifelong dedication to holistic health has made a global impact. Born in Trinidad, West Indies, Dr. Rickhi began his academic journey studying languages, literature, and history before turning to medicine, where he specialized in psychiatry. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Calgary, Canada.
Driven by his passion for integrative health, Dr. Rickhi personally financed and raised funds to establish the Canadian Institute of Natural and Integrative Medicine (CINIM), a world-leading nonprofit organization in integrative medicine research. In recognition of his groundbreaking contributions, Dr. Rickhi was awarded the prestigious Dr. Roger’s Prize in 2009, the largest monetary award for leaders and pioneers in integrative medicine.
Dr. Rickhi’s expertise spans Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tibetan, Ayurvedic (Indian), and Ryodoraku (Japanese) Medicine. He has also received training in Functional, Energy, and Quantum Physics Medicine. His extensive knowledge has led him to serve as an advisor on complementary therapies for Health Canada and the World Health Organization. He was the first Canadian to join the Executive Committee of the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine (CAHCIM), which includes 42 North American universities.
Internationally, Dr. Rickhi collaborates with health and wellness centers and has developed scientifically validated Spiritual Wellness Programs aimed at reducing stress and depression. These programs have been published in peer-reviewed journals and successfully implemented. His revolutionary home exercise system, designed for professional athletes, has proven to deliver a comprehensive cardio and strength workout in significantly less time.
A respected researcher and international speaker, Dr. Rickhi’s work has been featured in televised documentaries, and his workshops on spirituality have aired on the Wisdom Channel. Currently, he is involved in the LEAP research project, an innovative online therapy program targeting teenage depression and suicide. Designed with input from teenagers, LEAP aims to provide free, accessible mental health support to teens worldwide.
Approximately 12 years ago, Dr. Rickhi spearheaded a philanthropic initiative in one of India’s poorest regions. This project has since developed into a large-scale effort, creating reforestation and recycling programs, establishing schools, rural health centers, a nursing school, and a state-of-the-art hospital. The project feeds over 100,000 people monthly, provides clothing and clean water, and has been recognized by the Indian Government as a transformative program positively impacting countless lives.
Dr. Rickhi believes that healthcare professionals have a responsibility to be visionaries in their field and that true scientists seek to understand the unknown. His philosophy centers on selfless service to humanity, which he views as the most rewarding human experience.

Dr. Mimi Guarneri co-founded the Miraglo Foundation with Rauni Prittinen King to provide healthcare and education to underserved communities around the world, advancing integrative health models and supporting sustainable, global health initiatives.
Her passion for humanitarian work is evident in her previous commitments to several global causes. Cathy served on the Board of Directors of Horizons of Friendship, a Canadian NGO that partners with communities in Central America and Mexico to promote social justice and sustainable development. Additionally, she held the role of International Coordinator for Sripuram, an organization dedicated to supporting community development initiatives in Southern India, with a focus on healthcare, education, and empowerment.
Cathy also served on the Board of Directors of the Gift of Hope for Children Society, a nonprofit organization based in Victoria, Canada, which provided critical support to children in need through innovative projects like the Dr. Dog Project.
Cathy's diverse experience in law, finance, and humanitarian work exemplifies her dedication to creating meaningful change. Her leadership and advocacy continue to make a significant impact both locally and internationally.

Catherine’s professional background is rooted in law. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in Alberta, Canada, and practiced privately before transitioning to a pivotal role at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB). During her tenure at the IRB, Catherine served as in-house counsel and was later appointed as a member of both the Refugee Division and the Appeals Division, where she adjudicated complex cases related to immigration and refugee status.

Claire D’Andrea has dedicated nearly 15 years to Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in La Jolla, CA, where she has served as Supervisor of Patient Care since 2004. In this role, Claire manages a multidisciplinary clinical team, including registered nurses, medical assistants, dieticians, exercise physiologists, biofeedback therapists, acupuncturists, Healing Touch practitioners, and research nurses.
Sanna King

Dr. Sanna King is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Mississippi State University. Her scholarly interests are in the areas of juvenile justice, criminology, social justice, race/ethnicity, gender, intersectionality, racialized punishment, post-colonialism, and culture. Her research broadly focuses on intersecting inequalities in youth punishment. Her current research examines the impact of racial injustice and racial apathy on the transition to adulthood. Her previous research examined youth punishment in Hawaiʻi, specifically focusing on the connection between schools and jails.
Dr. King received her PhD and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She also earned her M.A. in American Studies from Columbia University, and her B.A. in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. King’s career, research, and study have been focused on social justice and youth punishment. In addition to teaching at multiple universities, she also facilitated writing workshops to incarcerated youth at Riker’s Island Correctional Facility in New York City for several years before moving to Hawaiʻi. In Hawaiʻi she continued working with incarcerated and at-risk youth through facilitating writing workshops and therapeutic group-counseling programs using the Girls Circle curriculum at juvenile detention facilities and a high school on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Dr. King and her colleagues at Mississippi State University also provide reentry preparation workshops for incarcerated people in Mississippi.
She has also worked as a project analyst for an adolescent reentry program at Rikers Island Correctional Facility in New York City, as well as an independent living skills and work readiness training coordinator and case manager for foster youth aging out of the foster care system in San Diego, CA.
She oversees all clinical operations, ranging from cardiac stress imaging studies and lifestyle change programs to cardiac rehabilitation and Enhanced External Counter Pulsation. Claire also manages the center’s healing modalities classes and workshops, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
With over 43 years of nursing experience, Claire’s expertise spans integrative and holistic medicine, intensive care, maternal-child health, home health, and clinical research. Her certifications include Integrative Nurse Coach (International Nurse Coach Association), Certified Healing Touch Practitioner (Healing Beyond Borders), and Clinical Research Coordinator (Association of Clinical Research Professionals). She is also HeartMath-trained through the HeartMath Institute. Claire is an active member of the International Nurse Coach Association, Holistic Nurses Association, Healing Beyond Borders, Association of Clinical Research Professionals, and the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association.
Claire has been a dedicated volunteer with WomenHeart, a nonprofit organization supporting women living with heart disease, since 2004. As a champion and spokesperson for WomenHeart, Claire has advocated for women's cardiovascular health, presenting at community events and professional conferences, including the California Society for Cardiac Rehab. She has been featured in *Ladies Home Journal* and has led stress management workshops at the WomenHeart Science and Leadership Symposium at the Mayo Clinic.
Her leadership within WomenHeart extends to the Board of Directors, where she served as Secretary from 2012 to 2015, and was later elected Vice Chair of the Board in 2015.
Claire’s nursing career has been guided by a deep commitment to holistic health. Believing that true health is more than the absence of disease, she is passionate about helping individuals explore the connection between mind, body, and spirit to achieve optimal well-being.
