Rauni Prittinen King


Rauni Prittinen King is the Co-Founder and former Director of Programs and Planning at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in La Jolla, California. She is also the former Nurse Case Manager for the Scripps Dr. Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease.  Rauni has over 20 years of experience in critical care nursing.  Rauni is Founder and President of Holistic & Integrative Medicine Resources Inc. and MIRAGLO Foundation.


Rauni is certified in Holistic Nursing and also a Certified Healing Touch practitioner and instructor. She has been coordinating Healing Touch workshops at Scripps Hospitals since 1993. Rauni teaches Healing Touch, designs Integrative and Holistic Medicine conferences for the public, physicians and other health care providers. Rauni received a BSN from Arizona State University and a Master’s in Integrative Health from National University, a program she created.  She also has a degree in Interior Design. She is certified in hypnotherapy, a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association and Healing Touch International. She currently serves on the Healing Touch International Board of Directors.


Rauni provides holistic consultations, Healing Touch treatments with hypnosis and essential oils. Rauni created Healing Touch of Finland in 1998 and has been teaching since then in Europe, India and North America. For her work she received the Trailblazer award from the Scripps Health Foundation. She has been honored for her work in Southern India by Project Concern International. Rauni has published in peer reviewed journals and recently contributed the Energy Medicine chapter in the Weil Integrative Medicine Library of Integrative Cardiology. Rauni integrates holistic healing practices with conventional medicine, creates healing environments and sees herself as a bridge in this process.
